True story.

When I built my first website and started making money online, I was not targeting the mom market. It took me a couple of years of jumping around to find my market.

But I’m glad I did. Here are some interesting stats for you if you do target the mom niche in your business. Encouraging!

Did you know that companies are spending billions of dollars every year marketing their products to Moms? If you’re in the Mom market yourself, you know you’re in the right place. If not, then why aren’t you?

Services like Mom PLR eBooks make it easy for you to tap into this market, too. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of room, as you’ll see in our Top 10 reasons why the Mom market rocks:

1. Moms make up a huge market. There are over 80 million Moms in the United States, with 1.4 million new Moms giving birth for the first time every year (US Census).

2. Moms spend a lot of money. Moms spend $1.3 trillion every year (Marketing to Moms by Maria T. Bailey, 2002). Have I mentioned the Mom market is huge?

3. Moms make a lot of buying decisions for their homes and families. Moms account for about 50% of spending on consumer electronics, food, health and beauty aids, home furnishings, and clothing (MRI, 2004). If you’re still looking for products to promote to the Mommy market, let this guide you.

4. Moms are web savvy. About 70% of Moms surveyed say they use the Internet to research before buying products (Marketing to Moms, 2002).

5. Moms like to shop online. The majority of Moms say they buy products online (Marketing to Moms, 2002). I told you, you’re in the right place. Internet marketing is the way to go!

6. Moms read their Email. Moms check their Email messages all day long (Lucid Marketing & BSM Media). Whoever said Email marketing was dead, was wrong.

7. Moms take Email messages to heart. 71% of Moms say their buying decisions are influenced by Email messages (Lucid Marketing & BSM Media). Not only do Moms read your Emails, they act on them, too.

8. Moms make things go viral. 80% of Moms say they forward useful Emails to their friends (Lucid Marketing & BSM Media 2004). So make your Emails useful!

9. Moms buy, not only for their spouses/partners and children, but for their parents as well. Up to 40% of Moms reportedly are involved in purchases for their aging parents (Marketing to Moms Coalition, 2007). This is a wonderful insight – let’s remember that Moms are somebody’s children, too.

10. Moms rely on their communities or tribes. 64% of Moms say the recommendations of others influence purchases they make for their home (Marketing to Moms, 2002).

Moms are the chief financial officers of their homes (and many have their own businesses as well). They buy a lot of stuff, both online and offline. They rely on other people to make up their minds about what to buy, and they appreciate getting really useful information that makes their lives easier.

What’s the take-away lesson for marketers here? You better be marketing to Moms and you better be doing it properly.

Moms are craving useful information – are you providing it?

Moms PLR eBooks can help you give Moms the content that they’re looking for online. You’ll get high-quality content written just for Moms, to use in your websites, infoproducts, Emails and more.

Use coupon code “momsrule” (without quotation marks) to get $10 off your first month of membership.

Give Moms content and products they love and they’ll spread the word for you. Moms ROCK!

How PLR Benefits Your Business

PLR, or Private Label Rights content is a concept that is mysterious to many, but is really very useful – even essential to the success of online business owners. Purchasing PLR content for use on your websites and in your newsletters or other materials can be quite beneficial to you and your business. It can save you time, money and the headache of having to sit and write all your content yourself.

PLR articles can be edited and changed to suit your specific needs and to personalize the content to your website and your target market, which is one reason that it is so versatile and profitable.

PLR can be used in many different ways. For example, you can use PLR to add fresh, informative content to your website, blog, an e-course or newsletter. You can utilize it to create an e-book or other information product to sell. You can give PLR articles to your affiliates as a means by which to promote your current information products. There are literally dozens of uses. Your imagination’s the limit!

An e-book or e-course can virtually be created from PLR by using multiple articles and breaking them up or piecing them together to form the book or series. Sending out several emails for the e-course over a 5-7 day period will put you in front of those on your list or help you to build a list. Then, the e-book can serve as another stream of income.

If you’re an affiliate marketer and struggle with creating enough content to promote products to your website visitors, PLR can be just the ticket. Product reviews lend themselves extremely well to making affiliate recommendations. Articles can also promote affiliate products as a resource for more information or to solve a problem the reader is experiencing.

Using PLR in your business can free you up some time to spend on other more specialized tasks that are your focus and things that you probably enjoying doing more than creating content.

For PLR content that serves the natural mom and green family market, visit http://www.NaturalMomPLR.com. Get articles, natural product reviews and healthy recipes written by – and for – natural families.

Don’t forget to replace the url with your affiliate link.

If you have a mom, food, or health related website or blog, you might be interested in the email I just sent out to my Articles notification list and my affiliates. I’ll paste it below.

I have a few articles here around the topic of healthy eating. If you aren’t already an affiliate of mine, you can sign upand earn commissions for publishing these articles.

Two of them are found here:http://affiliatesfun.com/salad-articles.html
(The affiliate sign up is there too.) The other is pasted below.

Meeting Your Healthy Eating Goals

So, you’ve resolved to eat healthier in 2008, have you created a plan for this? Setting a goal is great, but without a plan of action, it’s not going to happen. A plan can help you to meet your goal of eating healthier and won’t overwhelm you. To create your plan you will need to decide what steps you are willing to take now to make these new habits last a lifetime. The following are some examples of attainable eating goals:

1. Try something new.
Many times, we all decide we can’t stick to an eating plan because it limits us to certain foods or cuts out entire food groups, like carbohydrates or dairy products. Many diets are set up this way, but eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to go on a restricted diet. There is so much variety among fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts. Try a new food like kefir or miso soup, or a new recipe from a healthy cookbook. You never know if you’ll find a new food you love.

2. Make it easier on yourself.
Take advantage of cookbooks, ready to use foods, and meal planning options that you can find online to help you to create a plan that works for you. Don’t try to figure out what to cook for dinner when you’re starving, because your body will be crying out for sugar at that time. Be proactive and have a plan, and stock your pantry and fridge with healthier options.

3. Choose just one meal.
Choosing one meal at a time to improve will help you stay focused and not feel overwhelmed. This does not mean you should eat junk or fast food the rest of the day, but focusing on one meal at a time can make the step to healthier eating a little easier. As an example, switch from cold breakfast cereals that may be high in sugars to a cooked whole grain like oatmeal, or even a yummy fruit salad for breakfast.

Taking each of these steps one at a time could really help to launch you onto a plan that will work for you. Remember it does not have to be difficult so start your plan today.

Make healthy eating simpler with the Ultimate 365 Salad Cookbook. With a different salad recipe for every day of the year, you and your family will never be bored. Just go to (Insert affiliate link here) to download instantly and start enjoying main dish, dessert, veggie, grain, bean and fruit salads now.

Go here to sign up for my affiliate program and check out this and my other affiliate products!

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA around here. You see I’ve been hard at work on a couple of things:

Re-Focusing. I’m dumping a couple of projects and even leaving an entire market behind. I’m learning that Focus is a moving target instead of a one time goal! More on that later.

Busy with mine and Tiffany Washko’s new Natural Mom PLR membership site.

But enough about me. Let’s talk about the freebie for this week. It’s all about using Content to grow your online business. This won’t take all day to read, in fact it’s just 9 pages long. But it touches on the following points:

How content sets you apart from other businesses

Why you want to be a “value added” marketer – and how to get there

What to do if you’re not a great writer

Getting other people to write content for you – free and paid

How to figure out what your ideal customer wants by way of content

And more good stuff.

You can download it here: Content Skills

Feel free to pass it around.

(In case the spamblockers ate this!)

Have you added your own information product to your business yet? Or are you too busy to take advantage of this extra income stream? I know I have a lot of ideas for more products but don’t have the time to write them all (and I don’t want to sacrifice all my initial profits on outsourcing the whole thing either).

For me personally, launching my first infoproduct, Natural Mom Business Guide, was a big turning point for me. While I was earning money from my content sites, my profit margin went way up and so did my overall income from that product.

The reason information products are so great for your business, is because it means that you only have to do the work once and you can continually make money from that same product over and over again.

Once you have it set up, it’s basically hands-off. Your shopping cart system will take care of all the orders automatically, even if it’s 2am. That means you have more free time to do the things you enjoy, without sacrificing your income.

It doesn’t matter what type of business you have, whether you sell physical products, services, or are an affiliate marketer, adding information products to your business is a great way to create passive income.

Unfortunately, it can take a lot of time and (or money if you’re going to outsource the writing) to create your own product, and if you’re currently running a business, then you may not feel as though you can pull it off.

However, there is a way that you can sell information products without investing a lot of time and money. You may have even heard of it . . . PLR eBooks. I’ve never come across a tightly
niched, HIGH quality PLR eBook membership, until now, and I’m very excited about sharing this.

Nell Taliercio and Melissa Ingold have teamed up to bring you the very first PLR eBook Membership for moms. Their membership is designed specifically for the mom market.
That means that every eBook is on a topic of interest to moms, which makes it super easy for you to sell these eBooks to the market you already have.

You can use this PLR eBook membership to create an extra stream of income without spending a ton of time or money. Each month you’ll have access to a quality PLR e-book, sales page, graphics, ecourse to promote your e-book, and so much more.

It’s literally a plug in business model. Go here: Mom PLR Ebooks

In addition, Alice and Mila of All PLR have just launched a bunch of new article packs you might want to check out, on Holistic Living, Homeschool, Toddlers, and more: All Private Label Content

Here’s to getting the autumn season started with a BANG!

Is 2007 going to be your year? My wish for you is that this year be the year you MAKE it with your online business. For the next few weeks I’m going to share some of the big winning decisions I made in my business this year that have made all the difference for me.

I’ll start with something that has changed the face of my Virtual Real Estate empire:
Great Content… Content that search engines, visitors and subscribers are hungry for.

You have a few options when it comes to creating great content for your website(s):

1) Pay someone else – hire a ghostwriter to create content for you
2) Use free reprint articles – free but they leak traffic out the byline!
3) Private Label Rights content (PLR)

Now, each of these has benefits and drawbacks but when it comes to creating all your own, my friend and mentor Alice Seba says that is “a slow road“. I agree… and I’m all about the fast lane to online business income.

Right now I’m going to focus on the benefits of PLR. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, it refers to content that a ghostwriter has created, that you can purchase, along with a limited number of other people, that then belongs to you… you can edit it and use it as you wish. It’s yours!

It’s cheaper than hiring a ghostwriter yourself, and takes a LOT less time than creating your own content, plus you don’t have to “leak” your traffic out like you do when you use free reprint articles.

This last quarter I’ve embraced PLR with great results, mostly because my friends Alice Seba, Mila Sidman, Kelly McCausey and Nicole Dean have been putting together Private Label Rights article membership packages and packs.

I’m using this content to create new sites, new reports, get more website traffic and visitors, more AdSense income, more affiliate sales, etc. And it’s much faster than writing my own content!
