Well everyone’s talking about their goals for 2005, and I don’t do “resolutions”, but I do believe in the importance of setting goals. It’s an ongoing process. I just looked back at some of the goals I set a month ago, and I had achieved a couple of them, but some of them I didn’t want anymore!
Here are a couple of mine:
I am keeping a daily log of my income.
Sometimes it can seem discouraging when you’re not increasing your income as fast as you want, but it’s exciting to look at your daily/weekly income and see that you are making progress!
Getting more organized to make my daily business tasks easier.
I’m already pretty organized with my home and such. But I do silly things that take too much time…like not having my affiliate programs all set up in a nice spreadsheet, so that when I need a link, I don’t have to go to the site, log in, get my links, etc…LOL!
Such a simple thing but it will shave minutes off my week for sure.
Adding content to every site daily.
My business feels like I’m bipolar sometimes, because I will work like crazy for two weeks, then do very little for a few days. I’ll be up until 2 or 3 a few nights in a row, then feel the affects of that for almost a week after!
It’s extremely challenging for me to work on my business while my kids are awake, and dh works long hours, so some of that is out of necessity, but some of it is a lack of good organization on my part.
So those are my big 3 things that I’m tackling right away.
Of course I have income goals, but I find that *activity* goals work better for me.
I can’t directly control my income as much as I can control my *behavior*…which of course impacts my income
Some people call it the “Daily Activity Standard”.
The cumulative effects of the little things done daily add up to tremendous things over the period of a week, month, year, etc.

Hi Carrie,
I feel the same way! It’s tough trying to work during the day with kids running everywhere. Some days I get a lot done and some days I don’t. I really want to be more successful this year and double my monthly income. That would be really nice!
I know, I know!
I find myself envious of some people I know who only have on child, or who have their kids in part time day care, and are able to work more and earn more!
But I know my situation will change as my little ones get older, they’ll let me work more.
Plus, homeschooling is a lifestyle choice that’s very important to me. So it’s all about priorities
The Daily Activity thing is like practicing Tai Chi everyday. It has a cumulative effect, much like if you are writing a novel, and you write only one page a day. It doesn’t sound like much, but after one year, you’ve got a 300+ page book…
Hi, nice blog and thx for the info.
Working from home used to be something utopic for me just 2 years ago, as it probably is even today for 95% of all people. However, I found out that while you won’t get rich overnight on the Internet, you can generate some nice income. Now, I live in Romania, which is a rather poor Eastern European country, with an average wage of about $300 per month. You can imagine what a huge impact my discovery of online money making possibilities meant – especially since I am now earning constant 4-figure USD earnings each month, through various online activities (hosting ads on my websites, freelancing as a content writer and graphic designer).
I tried to put all my knowledge to good use and summarize it in a new website, which I invite you to check out if you have the time – Web2earn.com – learn how to make money online. I tried to cover the most profitable and reliable home based business opportunities and categorize them in 10 main groups. I would, however, be very interested to obtain more perspectives on the topics I wrote about. So, if you would like to share your opinion on any of the things I analyzed on Web2earn or if you have a suggestion regarding the site, I would be more than happy to hear it.
Regards,
M. R.
