When you’re new to email marketing, it’s easy to get discouraged when people unsubscribe to your newsletter or ecourse. Especially when they fill out the little “why you unsubscribed” form in your newsletter management system.
Sometimes they say things like: “All you’re trying to do is sell me a product. The information is good, but I don’t want to buy anything.”
Guess what? When your list starts to grow, you get more unsubscribes. That’s a GOOD sign! It means you’re making offers and also learning about your subscribers… what they want, what they’ll respond to, etc. Don’t worry if you get people who unsubscribe because they’re offended at your sales message.
You don’t want them anyway.
You’re not running a non profit organization, you’re running a business, and the last time I checked, you’re in it to make money. And that’s ok.
Don’t get me wrong – I believe in helping people and providing great information to your subscribers. But if you occasionally make a product offer, you’re doing great.
If you never offend anyone or never get any unsubscribes, you’re not trying hard enough.

I don’t mind the unsub’s. The ones that say it is spam is what bothers me. NO IT ISN’T! lol But I know there is very little I can do about this problem.
