… but I don’t know how to write a press release!

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Yesterday I sent an email to a woman who asked me how to market her new website. In my reply to her, I recommended two things:

Article marketing and Press releases

I mention those two marketing methods over and over because they work, and because they don’t cost a lot of money – which is important for a new business owner.

But then the next thing I often hear is:

“But I don’t know HOW to write an article or press release!”

I’ll share some of my own article writing tips another time, but for now, my friend Alice Seba has come up with an awesome solution to this dilemna. She and publicity diva Shannon Cherry (I’m a member of her Penny Pinching Publicity and have written about it here) have teamed up to solve this problem for you.

They have created customizable press releases for a variety of business models. No matter what kind of online business you have, you can use press releases to get lots of attention, at no cost, from the media!

Have you seen this Mom Masterminds video?

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Wow I’m impressed! Kelly McCausey has just put together a 25 minute video about Mom Masterminds. In it, she explains:

  • The ins and outs of the resources available
  • How members benefit from joining
  • An introduction to the coaches (her and Lynette) and special advisers
  • What the free preview includes
  • A sneak peek at the membership forum and all it holds in store for you
  • What separates MM from other work at home Mom forums
  • How to know if you’re right for Mom Masterminds

If you’re toying with the idea of joining, please take the time to watch this video. It will probably answer all the questions you’ve had about membership.

One important note: Since the beginning of MM, members “graduated” after 12 months of consecutive membership. This will be changing very very soon and the graduate period will extend to 18 months. So NOW IS the time to join

View From My Home Office "Window"

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Since I’ve had a laptop, my “office” is somewhat mobile.

I still have a desk with my big ole desktop computer on it, but mostly I work on my laptop. So sometimes my “office” is at Barnes and Noble, sometimes it’s on the front porch if the weather is nice.

Lately since the weather has been nippy, I’m enjoying starting my morning work sitting in front of a cozy fire.

Check out the girl in the “cubicle” next to me:

Yeah, she’s working reeeeallly hard isn’t she? ;)

Fun With Stats

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

I typically take a look at my stats at the end of the month, but didn’t get around to it a few days ago. Alice’s Myth Crusher Monday reminded me to take a look, because finding the funny keywords people use to find you with is always fun.

Here are some of my silly stats:

just add sweat (I did a review of a Just Add Sweat guide here.)

sweetie Lynette (yes, she is!)

meeting moms online as friends (I blogged about that here most recently.)

focus (spoke about this again recently)

atlanta moms blog (that’s me alright)

my child is too laid back (I’m sorry, try sitting them up?)

laryngitis enjoy (huh?)

how to start a bbq business - I haven’t the foggiest!

crap magnet (lol! Yes, I believe that’s what you are when you complain.)

jeopardize my business (no, don’t do that)

have fun do good make money (sounds great to me!)

Alice was talking about the fact that even though SEO can bring you targeted traffic, it’s funny how you can still be found for these funny keyphrases.

What kind of silly stats do you have to share?
