Are You a Crap Magnet? Friday Freebie

Friday, August 17th, 2007

One of my all time favorite quotes is from T. Harv Eker:

“When you are complaining, you are a living, breathing crap magnet.”

I can’t even say it without smiling! I came across an article I wanted to share with you. It’s in harmony with this week’s Friday Freebie. It’s at Steve Pavlina’s personal development blog. Take a moment and read his post today about complaining.

Then come back here and download this week’s freebie:

So Excited – Full Time Moms almost ready

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

I mentioned the other day that I’m compiling success stories of moms who earn a full time living on the Internet.

I asked these 15 women the same 4 questions:

  1. What is your business?
  2. What are the top 3 things you’ve done to grow your online business?
  3. What is one mistake you’ve made and learned from?
  4. Was there a “tipping point” that got you to full time money? What was it?

What I found so interesting is that the answers were so similar – which proves to me that having success online is not about good fortune or even talent, it’s about smart decisions.

The ebook will be released on Monday here: Full Time Wahms

A New Brochure Page

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Do you have a “business card” site?

My domain at carrielauth.com has been so boring and blah and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I wanted there to be one place that told people what I was about, as well as a place to publish articles I’ve written and a media area, but I just couldn’t seem to make it snappy.

Then Alice Seba inspired me with her Internet Marketing Sweetie page. So this is what I created: Carrie’s page. It’s kind of like a mini brochure that tells the visitor right away what I’m about and what I have to offer.

Tell me what you think! And thanks to Jen for putting it together for me.

Growing Pains at Naturally Wahms

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

If you’re ever visited the community blog at Naturally Wahms, you might notice the site is down. It’s going through some growing pains right now since I’ve just obtained the site and am its proud new owner.

I’ve been a blogger there for some time but Barb decided to sell it to focus on her jewelry business and it fits perfectly into my target market so I snatched it up!

It will be down for several hours or a day while nameservers update and such. Then we’ll be back with a new look, some new contributors and a new vision. :)

A Real Honor

Friday, August 10th, 2007

I’ve talked about Mom Masterminds a lot here on this blog. MM has been absolutely instrumental for me, both in my business and personally (which is often one and the same).

What I mean is that since one of the hardest things about growing a business is keeping on keeping on. Few people reach their goals in a short time, and there’s a lot of work and learning that you have to do (and a few mistakes you have to make) in order to reach your goals. It’s sometimes a real exercise in personal growth and development, and not just marketing education.

MM has been so important as a place I can get the solid business advice I need from women who are ahead of me in their business development – and lately it’s been a place where I can offer that same help to others.

A few weeks ago I was named Special Advisor at Mom Masterminds. I’m really honored! So if you decide to join, I’ll be one of the women available to offer a helping hand.

You can get a free Sneak Peak into the coaching and resources available at Mom Masterminds by clicking this link.

How To Earn Full Time Money Online

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

In case you’re not signed up for my newsletter (horrors! Sign up using the box on the right…) I wanted to post this here.

I’m working on a really exciting project this week. It will be ready in a couple of weeks, but until then here is a sneak peek: Full Time Money

Do you want to know exactly what women who are marketing on the Internet do to get their business to a full time income level?

I was contemplating the other day how so many women, when they go looking for ways to earn money online, are inundated with information, and some of it is just plain BAD.

Often times the first thing they do is start hanging around at message forums asking “How do I….” and read the answers from others who are doing the exact same thing!

In other words, they’re getting answers from people who really don’t have any business offering business advice. Does that make sense?

So I’m grilling some of the top internet marketing Moms who got to full time money with their business and asking them the same 4 questions.

What do you do?
What are the top 3 ways you market your business?
What mistakes have you made and what did you learn?
Was there a “tipping point” that got you to full time money? What was it?

You know what is so interesting? Most of them are saying the exact same thing only in slightly different ways. :-)

Stay tuned – and sign up for the notification here: Full Time Money

Virtual Assistant: From 0 to 11 In 24 Hours

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

This week I had the chance to review a resource that will be a huge jumpstart for anyone who wants to launch a Virtual Assistance business.

It’s called 24 Hour VA Profits, and it’s the personal story of Angela Wills, a single Mom who earns a full time living from home with her Virtual Assistant business.

Angela stumbled around for a couple of years (sound familiar?) trying different ways of earning income online, but it wasn’t until she launched her Virtual Assistant business that she found her “home”.

The ebook shares her story, but it’s much more than that. It also includes solid get starting advice and insider tips for anyone who wants to launch a Virtual Assistant business and get their first clients FAST.

Angela shares how she was able to get 11 clients in just 24 hours. I know she’s telling the truth because I was one of her first clients, and know several of the others. :-)

Along with the ebook, there is an additional report that reveals how to find your marketable skills so you can earn money as a VA, how to market your new VA business, how to find clients, how to decide upon the fees for your services, and more.

I think this report along with the two bonuses is ideal for a woman who needs to make money quickly by starting a service based business online. It would be perfect for a mom who, for instance, is on maternity leave and does not want to return to work who needs to replace her income quickly.

24 Hour VA Profits is easy to understand and gets right to the point with no extra fluff. Angela’s personal story as a single Mom is inspiring. This product is also very affordable and offers a 30 day money back guarantee.

As you might know I’ve done a couple of offline seminars here in Atlanta. I’m very passionate about helping women learn how to make money from home, and the VA industry is so exciting to me! I think it’s such a blessing that the internet makes it possible for a women to put her skills to work, on HER schedule, and that she can potentially earn much more than she did in her job.

If you decide to buy Angela’s product, I’ll sweeten the pot by sending you a free report. One of the best ways for you to market your new VA business is by writing articles (incidentally, it’s one of the free marketing techniques Angela shares in her book).

To give you a helping hand, I’ll send you my free “Marketing Your Website With Articles” report at no charge.

Just forward your receipt to me at carrie at carrielauth dot com and your free report will be on its way to you.

With this report, you could realistically be earning money from home as a V.A. in one week’s time.

8 Random Facts

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007
Mila tagged me or I promise, I wouldn’t be boring you with these 8! Here we go:

8 Random Facts About Me
  1. I was probably the hardest working, least successful person ever in direct sales! Incidentally I still use the products I was marketing and probably always will. My upline used to tease me saying that if anyone else in the world had worked as hard as I did in that business they would have made a ton. Sigh. It just wasn’t for me. That’s why I love internet marketing so much. In fact, I am still paying off debt I incurred while trying to make my direct sales business work (although I’ll be done paying it in two months).
  2. When I was 12, I lived in Ireland for a few months. It took me a few weeks to get used to the cold weather, but I was sad when we moved back to the states. I think that brief experience has a lot to do with the adult I became. Most kids in this country have no idea how much they have to be thankful for!
  3. We have chickens. If we’re fortunate we eat fresh eggs in the morning.
  4. I think building Legos all morning is an acceptable substitute for schoolwork.
  5. I would be perfectly content to never watch TV again in my life. It seems like the biggest waste of time in the world. I do enjoy the occasional movie though.
  6. I didn’t have a soda pop until I was around 9 years old, and that was at a friend’s house. My Mom was a health nut.
  7. I have never had a cavity. (See #7)

  8. 3 of my babies were born at home. Here are two pictures: before and after.

Ok now it’s your turn!

Rhea Perry: Homeschooling an Entrepreneur

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

I was thrilled to hear from Rhea Perry this week on Work at Home Moms Talk Radio.

Rhea is one of my favorite internet marketing Moms. I agree with many of her feelings about kids and education, entrepreneurialism, and much more. I actually got to meet Rhea in person several weeks ago when she gave a talk in Fayetteville, GA, about 40 minutes from where I live.

Someone snapped a pic of me and Rhea and I’ve been waiting to get a copy of it ever since so I could post it here on my blog, but Rhea emailed me to say it was lost. :(

Anyway, Rhea specializes in teaching people how to “homeschool an entrepreneur”. She has an awesome story; basically her oldest son was able to retire Dad and became a real internet marketing prodigy.

Her Entrepreneur Days is an annual home business conference where parents and teens gather to learn a variety of ways to make money from home using the internet. It will be held here in Atlanta, on August 24-26. If I didn’t have a little one still attached to my hip (and 3 more to find childcare for!) I would SO be there.
