A few of the long time members there (including yours truly) are serving as Special Advisors, and MM has opened its doors for a No Strings Attached Free Preview! If you’ve ever wondered what Mom Masterminds is like you can find out now – no commitment required.

As a free preview member, you’ll be given instant access to the new MM Preview Center where you’ll experience five full version learning resources hand picked for newcomers.

You will also be given access to the private forum where you can introduce yourself and get help for your business. Ask questions, seek feedback, brainstorm and make important new connections with some of the most amazing internet marketing moms you’ll ever meet.

You can only have one Free Preview – so make sure that you set aside seven days to make the most of the opportunity. I know if you’re anything like me, you’ll fall in love with the networking and resources and sign up as a full member.

Personally, I’ve seen my income go from “extra, fun money” to a full time income (in MUCH less time) since joining. I’ve launched products with members there increasing my passive income and exposure, and gotten thousands of dollars worth of free marketing and business education… among other benefits.

Boundaries in Business

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Each month subscribers to Kelly McCausey’s personal email list get a special treat. It’s an exclusive, members only audio. This month, Kelly and 3 work at home moms who have service businesses talked about boundaries.

Boundaries is such a great topic! If you don’t know what I mean by that, I can recommend a great book… actually the entire series on Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend is excellent.

A Change of State

Friday, July 27th, 2007

No, this isn’t going to be a post about politics. When I say “state”, I’m referring to your emotional and mental state. If you’ve ever read anything by Tony Robbins you know what I’m talking about.

The longer I am in business for myself, the more I realize that it’s not about the money. It’s about the personal growth. It’s about the person you become. And the biggest, most important thing you need in order to succeed as an entrepreneur is the ability to stay the course.

It’s much more important than any technical know how.
It’s much more important than any marketing or business acumen.
It’s much more important than how much energy and time you spend.
It’s much more important than the money you have to invest.

In my opinion, the ability to control your will and your mood and emotions is THE most important thing that will ensure your success!

So, when challenges come your way and threaten to upset your State, how do you deal with that? None of us are completely hardened. We all have negative emotions that come up from time to time. Life is not going to “behave” the way we would like much of the time! The question is, how do we handle things we have to deal with, like challenges or difficult people?

I thought it would be fun and enlightening to talk about some of the things you can do to change your State. Truly, it’s not hard once you commit yourself to being positive and confident. It just takes some practice.

What do you do to change your State?

Here are a couple of things I do.

Gratitude
Gratitude is one of the quickest, most effective ways of getting your emotions back in the place where they need to be. Every day, I think on the things I’m grateful for. Before they go to bed, I discuss with my kids 3 things they’re grateful for that happened that day.

Even though I have these daily habits, I can also call on gratitude at any time, anywhere to change my State instantly. Sometimes I have to take a deep breath and ask: “What’s perfect about this problem?”. As hard as it might be at first to come up with what’s positive about a negative situation (or difficult person!), every bad thing has some benefit.

If you have a hard time coming up with much, the fact that you have clean running water and food in your fridge puts you ahead of much of the world. Start there. :)

80’s Music
What can I say? I was an 80’s kid. Goonies was my favorite movie, I wore Jellies the first time they came around, and Cyndi Lauper was cooler than Madonna. I simply *cannot* be unhappy while listening to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Music is an excellent State changer. If you need a pick me up, come back here to watch this!

Now you share: What puts you back into right thinking quickly and easily?

Mila and Me and Creepy Online Stalkers

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Today I called up my friend Mila on the “telepe-phone”, or the telepathic telephone.

Not really, it’s just that we both were thinking about the same thing today: creepy online stalkers.

She posted here about an issue I’m having over on a community blog of Alice Seba’s that we both post to. Alice finally got fed up and posted about it here. I actually had a similar issue about two years ago when I still kept a personal blog. Someone kept posting (anonymously of course!) nasty little comments about me and my kids.

People like this usually make jabs at you personally, hitting sensitive areas like your kids, your husband (estranged or not), and other places that might hurt. Small people always do that.

You know what? It’s this kind of thing that stops some people from reaching out for their goals: Dream Killers, Fun Suckers and other Bottom Feeders.

But not me. In order to have success in anything, you have to stick yourself out there and when you do that, you get jealous people who would rather attack you than get a life of their own.

Are you ready?

If you’re just getting started online and you’re reading this, know that it will eventually happen to you.

Get prepared now.

The universe will test you to see how bad you want it.

Will you pass the test?

Will you hold your head up high and know you’re doing great stuff when others seem bent on discrediting you? Will you keep hiking up the mountain when others put obstacles in your way?

And for those of you who have been building an online business for some time, how have you handled these creepy people?

I know firsthand that it’s happened to Kristie T, Tiffany and Mila, who has already expressed herself about it.

How did you handle the creepy online stalkers?

Question about market research and niches – should she start over?

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Hi Carrie,

Last month I built a site at http://cyberhousewife.com/ before doing niche keyword research.

Basically the site is about parenting but the more I learn, the more I feel that the site cannot go far because it is not niche keyword focused. Plus I think I have chosen the wrong domain name.

I am interested to build a site about parenting but I found that too many competition.
Could you please advise whether I should go on with the site or built other site?

-L

L gave me permission to post her question here, and I answered it on the FAQ site at:
Market research and niches should I start over?

Thanks for sending this L, I think it’s a great question that many beginning online marketers may be faced with :)

Recommended: Internet Based Moms Expert Blog

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Mila emailed me the other day about this and I didn’t get a chance to tell you until now, but she has launched a new multi author expert blog over at Internet Based Moms.

Go check it out. These ladies are real experts in their respective fields and I’m looking forward to reading what they have to say.

One of the authors is Rhea Perry, who I’ve talked about before on this blog. Rhea captured my attention two years ago and was the second person I interviewed for my podcast. She’s a homeschooling Mom of 7 whose son became an internet entrepreneur, allowing Dad to quit his job in corporate America.

What a great story! Rhea now teaches internet marketing and eBay conferences, and one is coming up here in my neck of the woods in August. I would be there if my youngest wasn’t deep into the separation anxiety stage!

I got to meet Rhea in person several weeks ago when she came to Fayetteville, GA to speak. What a treat!

More Thoughts On Pay Per Post

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Some people may have a problem with receiving payment for a blog post, but I hope they don’t hang out here. :)

From the very first time I heard about Pay Per Post, I thought it was a great idea.

Advertisers get to create buzz about their business.
Bloggers get to earn money doing what they do – blogging!

In my opinion, it’s no different than website owners and bloggers placing Google AdSense or other advertising on their websites to earn money. We’re in this to put food on the table and clothes on the kid’s backs, no?

Most of the blog posts I’ve read on other people’s blogs that were sponsored were still fun, informative and often led me to a cool new resource on the Internet.

As a blogger, I get to choose what topics I will write about. I’m going to pick topics that are relevant to my audience, and I’m also going to check out the website I’m getting paid to write about to make sure it’s cool.

Those are just my thoughts. What are yours?

Basics Of How To Use Pay Per Post

If you have a blog, you can monetize it several different ways. You can accept outside advertising from sponsors, you can add Google Adwords and be paid when someone clicks on one of your ads, you can put up affiliate links or ads for your own products and you can also register for a blog payment service.

PPP is a a blog payment service that will pay you to post about products, services and topics on. The payouts will generally start out at about $5 per post and they can go up from there.

Each blog payment service has specific guidelines about the blogs they will accept. Generally speaking, your blog will need to be at least 90 days old, on its own domain, you’ll need to post on a pretty regular basis (about 3 times per week) and you cannot have any lapses of 30 days with no posts.

To register for Pay Per Post, simply visit the website and fill out a form with some basic information. They will ask some questions about the type of blog you have and who your target readership is. If you are accepted, you will be notified via email.

Once you have been approved, you log into the website and see what type of opportunities are available to you. They may ask you to post 50 or 100 words in your post. You may be required to add an image, which is hosted in a server somewhere else so it won’t take up space on your web host. You just need to post a minimum amount of words and include a link to the referring website.

You will then log into PPP and let them know you have completed the assignment. You will need to give them the title of your blog post as well as the URL to that specific post. An administrator will review your post and once it is approved, your payment will follow in about 30 days. Most of these services send payment via PayPal. Once you have been paid, you can delete the post if you choose.
