We Interrupt Your Weekend To Bring You This Special Report

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

I had to tell you about a time sensitive offer from my friend Alice Seba.

Firstly, here is a great little report she’s offering at no charge: Spring Clean Your Autoresponder

On this page you’ll also have a chance to learn about Alice’s private “Internet Marketing Spring Cleaning”, an intensive 6 week coaching program. I’ve signed up as a student and am so excited about taking my business to new heights by dusting off the stuff that’s working to make it even better, and clearing OUT the stuff that’s not working to make room (and time!) for more profits.

Please consider joining us, and hurry – she’s closing the doors SUNDAY. I hope I see you in the inside. :-)

7 Dollar Reports – Do you have one in you?

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

After reading Lynn Terry’s thoughts on 7 Dollar Secrets, I decided to purchase it and the follow up guide Write That Report (you get the first report free when you buy the second one).

I’ve been saying for a long time that everyone has an ebook inside of them. And I think these two reports will encourage a lot of people to get that knowledge out and into an ebook they can sell for income.

7 Dollar Secrets and Write That Report teach you how to research, create and sell your information products. The two together cost only $7 and they encourage you to sell your small reports for the same price.

The reasoning is pretty solid and make perfect sense to me: $7 is very affordable for anyone with an internet connection, and you’ll have better conversion rates with less returns. With higher priced products, people expect you to overdeliver in value, and this intimidates many potential infoproduct writers.

Most people will blow $7 on a latte and muffin at Starbucks without thinking. It’s a small enough amount that people will spend it on impulse. It’s kind of like the toys, flashlights and disposable cameras that stores keep by the register. Don’t you find yourself throwing one last thing into your shopping cart as you wait in the checkout line? I know I do.

The reports are well written and concise. There isn’t too much information that will cause you to get bogged down. They will be especially helpful to those who have never created an information product before and who may be intimidated by the process. The second report in particular breaks down the process of writing your ebook into a VERY simple process that anyone, even a 5th grader, could do.

The author explains the benefits of selling information online, as well as some common problems – including solutions as to how to solve them. This is what I found especially helpful about the reports – Jonathan explains hwo to overcome these problems, one of which I’ve experienced with my own ebooks. He also includes free sample scripts you can download and use to increase your sales.

Reading these has finally motivated me to launch a non internet marketing product that I wrote several months ago. It’s a topic near and dear to my heart that I didn’t want to charge for. I ended up launching a content site based on the information, but I really needed to create an ebook so all the information could be neatly packaged into one ebook. That’s one of the reasons people buy ebooks: Convenience.

I’m excited about getting started with my topic, and also using the unique method Jonathan recommends for getting affiliates to promote the product. It’s an approach I’ve not come across, but I can see why it would be extremely effective, for two reasons.

Anyway, if you’re like me and have been sitting on an idea for an ebook or special report and need some step by step help to get it launched, get 7 Dollar Secrets AND Write That Report now.

Price Hike – No Foolin’

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

As you know, I’m a big fan of Jimmy D. Brown’s List And Traffic membership site. I’ve been a member for a long time and every month I glean valuable tidbits to help me grow my online marketing efforts, with less effort.

Well, Jimmy is going to double the price of the membership from $10.00 per month to $20.00 per month on April 2nd. If you want to get all the good stuff before the price increase, you’ll need to join now. If you join BEFORE the price increase, you’ll be grandfathered in at the lower price for for as long as you remain an active member. And he promises that you will never pay more than $10.00.

List and Traffic is one of the best deals on the internet, in my opinion. The resources available there are worth many times the price. Get signed up today at http://www.ListAndTraffic.com

Are you afraid to sell to them?

Monday, March 19th, 2007

I’ve found that a common problem among work at home Moms is our fear of selling to our newsletter subscribers. Do you suffer from this?

A friend and mentor of mine told me once that I was one of those people who could win contests if I was promoting a free product, but not one that had a price tag. Yikes!

You know what? She was right. So I’ve been working on that for sometime now. One of the things I did was creating email mini courses.

What are those?

They’re a series of emails, typically on just one topic, that educate the subscriber but also attempt to sell a product in order to solve a problem.

My friend Marie and I just finished up a detailed ebook, audio and”cheat sheet” that leads you through the process of creating and launching email mini courses.

How do they benefit you? And why should you launch ecourses? Go here to find out: http://www.MiniCourseMoney.com

And yes, there’s an ecourse there with tips. ;)

Free Ebook on Creating Small Reports

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

I have a neat freebie to share with you. Do you want to create an information product but find the process a bit intimidating?

Jimmy D. Brown of List and Traffic just launched a free report called Small Reports Fortune in which he shares his techniques for creating small, 7-15 page reports to sell. Instead of a huge ebook, could you fill up that many pages with content? I think so. I think everyone has a body of knowledge that could easily fill up that many pages.

The trick is to find a topic that people will pay to learn more about… their hot button. What information is your target market really, really hungry for? This is where Jimmy’s report is golden. He shows you how to find out what that topic is, and then repeat the process over and over if you want to to create an entire business around small reports.

You can pick it up for free here.

I’m the Marketing Pig

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Yesterday I just had to express (again) to Alice Seba and Mila Sidman how much I appreciate their All Mom Content and All PLR Content membership programs. Here’s what I had to say:

“You two make me happy as a pig in slop every month on the first, when I log in and grab my articles, recipes, reports and goodies from All Health Content and All Mom Content!

I have a few ecourses that were growing stagnant because I had not made the time to go back and fill up the autoresponders with emails. But now I’m finding all sorts of great articles to use and my autoresponder is very happy! You guys are saving me so much time and money and making my subscribers happy too.”

And that’s exactly how I feel. It’s like I’m Wilbur sitting there in my barn waiting for those two to throw me the slops each month. The marketing pig in me likes that, and so does my piggy bank.

So before I take this whole pig thing too far – If you’re not sure what all the fuss is about or how Private Label Rights content can help you grow your business in less time (and with less money… plr costs a lot less than hiring ghostwriters), check out their free ecourse. I hear they’re even cooking up a Marketing plr monthly membership. If you sign up for the free ecourse you’ll be the first to hear.

Signed,
The Marketing Pig

Is It Ok To Require Something In Exchange For Freebies?

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

A subscriber wrote today what I think is a common question, especially in some work at home markets. Her question was basically asking whether she should give freebies away without requiring an opt in. She says:

“I have heard conflicting idea’s on what’s proper. I offer free stuff, ebooks mostly to my customers. It’s all listed on a page called (keywords here)- Well I just wrote a new ebook that I am going to feature, however, I am not sure how to market it.

I have heard some people say you need to have people sign up for your newsletter in order to get free stuff – then others say that that’s not fair to make someone do something to get something – so that’s why I stopped making people sign up for to get the free stuff.

So do I make the person have to sign up for our newsletter in order to get the new ebook?”

I got her permission to post this here because, as I said, I think this is an important issue in certain markets. Here was my response:

I do both. I have freebies that I only offer to subscribers, and other things I give away freely. There is absolutely nothing wrong with requiring an opt in to get something, it’s smart marketing and businesses do it all the time. But if I do give something away without requiring an opt in, I have affiliate links in the report or ebook or I try to sell my own product so that I’ll make money. I rarely give something away without it benefitting me somehow.

We’re in business to make money. There’s no shame in that!

What about you? Have you heard that it’s wrong to ask for an opt in to give someone a freebie? It occurs to me that all businesses ask something of you in order to get something. You have to send something in, give them your name or email, show up at the store in person, or what have you. That’s not a bad thing. Again, your business exists to earn you a profit. You’re not in this for fun (although you should be enjoying yourself!). You want to put food on the table for your babies.

Why shouldn’t you require something in return for your valuable information? Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that. My guess is that they fear money or success, and aren’t a very reliable source of business advice.

I would like to hear your thoughts on this. :)
