Is 2007 going to be your year? My wish for you is that this year be the year you MAKE it with your online business. For the next few weeks I’m going to share some of the big winning decisions I made in my business this year that have made all the difference for me.

I’ll start with something that has changed the face of my Virtual Real Estate empire:
Great Content… Content that search engines, visitors and subscribers are hungry for.

You have a few options when it comes to creating great content for your website(s):

1) Pay someone else – hire a ghostwriter to create content for you
2) Use free reprint articles – free but they leak traffic out the byline!
3) Private Label Rights content (PLR)

Now, each of these has benefits and drawbacks but when it comes to creating all your own, my friend and mentor Alice Seba says that is “a slow road“. I agree… and I’m all about the fast lane to online business income. :)

Right now I’m going to focus on the benefits of PLR. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, it refers to content that a ghostwriter has created, that you can purchase, along with a limited number of other people, that then belongs to you… you can edit it and use it as you wish. It’s yours!

It’s cheaper than hiring a ghostwriter yourself, and takes a LOT less time than creating your own content, plus you don’t have to “leak” your traffic out like you do when you use free reprint articles.

This last quarter I’ve embraced PLR with great results, mostly because my friends Alice Seba, Mila Sidman, Kelly McCausey and Nicole Dean have been putting together Private Label Rights article membership packages and packs.

I’m using this content to create new sites, new reports, get more website traffic and visitors, more AdSense income, more affiliate sales, etc. And it’s much faster than writing my own content!

Bump up your online earnings with VA services

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

How are things going in your business? Are you earning all that you want to? Whether you currently have an online venture or not, if you want to boost your online earnings please read on.

Many Moms who want to work from the comfort of home start by offering Virtual Assistant (VA) services to other business owners. Quite a few Moms are earning a full time income doing this, with little out of pocket expenses.

Some of them even combine offering VA work for pay with their existing business to improve their bottom line.

My friends Jen Houck and Nell Taliercio have several years of combined experience in the VA field and I trust their reputations completely. They’ve put together a step by step guide for Moms who want to become VAs.

You can get more information about their offerings here: How To Become A VA

Confused Keyword Searcher Needs Help

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

In response to my suggestion to search at Wordtracker for keywords in her niche, one subscriber to my Natural Mom Business Guide ecourse replied:

“I did the word search and it was discouraging cause I thought more people would be interested in a baby store that sells organic products! I guess I need to refine my Keywords or something!”

Lisa

I got her permission to post this here so that I could offer a couple of suggestions, and yours are welcome too.

I went to Wordtracker myself and started to do some digging. Here are some of the keyword phrases I found:

organic baby products 150
organic baby clothing 107
organic baby food 85
baby organic cotton clothing 80
organic baby clothes 77
organic baby toys 72
organic baby 52
organic cotton baby clothes 50
organic baby bedding 46
organic baby formula 45
organic baby apparel 44
organic cotton baby clothing 39

That’s a lot of keywords! Wordtracker’s free trial only gives you a small portion of the available keywords, so if you’re just launching a new site, I recommend the paid version.

Then I searched for a related keyword: “natural baby”, since parents interested in organic baby stuff are probably also interested in natural baby stuff, right? :)

natural baby products 35
organic baby gift basket 25
organic baby care products 23
organic baby gifts 22
organic baby bedding sets 13
natural baby care products 12
baby bedding organic 10
organic cotton baby clothing and bedding 7
organic baby bedding and clothing 7
all natural personal care products for baby 6
natural baby products switzerland 6
baby natural products 5
organic cotton bedding baby 5
baby names organic baby bedding 5
growth in natural baby products 5
growth of natural baby products 3
organic baby bedding fabric 3
natural skin care cleaning products baby products 2
organic baby bedding jessica scott 2
baby skin care natural products 2
natural organic baby products skin care 2
natural baby skin care products 2
natural products for baby drop shippers 2

Then I took just one of the organic baby keywords and dug a little deeper:

organic baby products 150
organic baby care products 23
organic baby products phoenix 4
pure slumber embroidered organic cotton baby products 4
organic wool and cotton baby products 2
organic baby products aware 2
organic baby products gift certificates 2
natural organic baby products skin care 2
organic baby clothes and products 2

Again, this is a ton of keywords and I only scratched the surface here. This list would keep a serious marketer busy for some time. Just keep asking yourself “What else would this person be interested in if they’re looking for X…”

Also, If you haven’t used Wordtracker before, I recommend you take the tutorial so you understand what the numbers and terms mean. And don’t get overly concerned about the KEI index… many online marketers just ignore that.

Just remember what the 7 Dwarves said: “We digdigdigdigdigdigdigdigdig the whole day through. We digdigdigdigdigdigdig, it’s what we like to do”. If you keep digging for those keyword gems, you’ll find them.

:) What about you? What are your best keyword research suggestions?

5 Things… Quick, Look Cool!

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

I’ve been tagged by Alice so I have a couple minutes here to try to look interesting lol!

Ok here goes, 5 Things You Don’t Know About Me:

1) When I was 12 my parents sold everything we owned except for 8 duffel bags and we moved to Ireland to be missionaries.
2) I had 3 babies at home. Yes, I planned it that way.
3) Back in the day I used to enjoy a good scooter rally. Lots of great music, stylish clothing, and the occasional rowdy Skinhead. Quite the hootenanny.
4) I didn’t “do” high school. I was homeschooled from 8th grade on. Are you jealous?
5) I don’t celebrate Christmas. But I do believe in Jesus as the only way to salvation. I just found another way to honor him.
Now it’s your turn:

Jenn Sprague, Devra and Aviva , Diana and Tiffany.
Now you can all get back to work. LOL!

Great news for natural businesses

Friday, December 15th, 2006

My friends Alice and Mila have really impressed me with their new unveiling:

PLR articles that provide content for health, natural parenting, gardening and even organic food business owners. I scooped up 2 packs and a subscription right away. :)

Go here to get the full scoop. You’ll even see my testimonial right there on the site: All PLR

If you aren’t sure about how to use PLR, I encourage you to signup for that ecourse offered there, it won’t cost you a thing. And don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you have questions.

Using PLR has literally changed the way I do business. I’m no longer leaking traffic. ;)

Come as you are, better late than never

Monday, December 4th, 2006

My friend Lynette invited me to the “come as you are” blog party several days ago, but I’m a little bit late on this one for a couple of reasons:

1) Because I’m visiting relatives out of state and
2) Because I’m on dial up at the moment and couldn’t upload a picture!

But here we go: this is me shortly after waking up, I’m making breakfast for my nephews and kids (8 of them, aged 15 months to 18, under ONE roof!). But it’s all great fun.
A couple of days after this was taken I chopped my hair all off and it’s just at my jaw.

Lesse who can I invite now? Ok it’s time for Christine, the ladies at Naturally Wahms, the Lactivist, and Stacie.

See you later!
