Pregnant with Possibilities

Tuesday, January 18th, 2005

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Well now I will know who is reading my blogs ;)

I’ve been a little scarce around the forums and blogs this past week or so, due to some BIG news I got and feeling slightly under the weather, due to being “a little bit pregnant”.

Just how little I’m not sure! I’ve been so busy lately, it could be 6 weeks or 8 weeks. But, since this is number 4, and despite being VERY careful about what I’m eating, I’m already wearing my “fat jeans”…can’t button the other ones ;)

If there was ever a time to have some clear goals and determination to meet them, pregnancy seems to bring that out. Having a baby is so…definite. LOL

So I have a goal of doubling my online income by September. I’m very excited about reaching some new highs in traffic and Adsense income…I’ve hit two of my biggest days for both this past week. But the affiliate income could do better.

Well inbetween snacking, napping, peeing and trying not to vomit (oh and potty training my 2 year old), I’ll try to get some work done. :)

Exciting Progress!

Friday, January 14th, 2005

Lately checking my Adsense earnings has been so exciting…I’ve had two record days this past week.

It comes at a good time because I need to double my income by September. I have a certain event happening then that will require both more money coming in and less time spend working!

It’s very fulfilling and exciting for a woman, especially a Mom I think, to have a home based business. For one thing, a Mom does things all day long that get UN-done almost immediately. I can sweep the floor 5 times a day and STILL have crunchy things under my feet when I walk barefoot through the kitchen!

I do laundry, dishes, cook meals, etc…all things that must be done multiple times daily. But as I tell my husband, when I make a change to a website, noone comes along and undoes it 5 minutes later! ;) It stays done…and I can see constant improvement in my sites and resulting income. I owe a lot of that to Mom Masterminds.

I wrote an article on this topic: Why Moms Should Start a Home Based Business. (You may reprint it on your site if you like, just include a link, thanks)

Now if I could just double my affiliate income! That’s my next project ;)

Goals for 2005

Friday, January 7th, 2005

Well everyone’s talking about their goals for 2005, and I don’t do “resolutions”, but I do believe in the importance of setting goals. It’s an ongoing process. I just looked back at some of the goals I set a month ago, and I had achieved a couple of them, but some of them I didn’t want anymore!

Here are a couple of mine:

I am keeping a daily log of my income.

Sometimes it can seem discouraging when you’re not increasing your income as fast as you want, but it’s exciting to look at your daily/weekly income and see that you are making progress!

Getting more organized to make my daily business tasks easier.

I’m already pretty organized with my home and such. But I do silly things that take too much time…like not having my affiliate programs all set up in a nice spreadsheet, so that when I need a link, I don’t have to go to the site, log in, get my links, etc…LOL!

Such a simple thing but it will shave minutes off my week for sure.

Adding content to every site daily.

My business feels like I’m bipolar sometimes, because I will work like crazy for two weeks, then do very little for a few days. I’ll be up until 2 or 3 a few nights in a row, then feel the affects of that for almost a week after!

It’s extremely challenging for me to work on my business while my kids are awake, and dh works long hours, so some of that is out of necessity, but some of it is a lack of good organization on my part.

So those are my big 3 things that I’m tackling right away.

Of course I have income goals, but I find that *activity* goals work better for me.

I can’t directly control my income as much as I can control my *behavior*…which of course impacts my income ;)

Some people call it the “Daily Activity Standard”.

The cumulative effects of the little things done daily add up to tremendous things over the period of a week, month, year, etc.

CrispAds Pays

Tuesday, January 4th, 2005

I’m impressed….I just got a payment from CrispAds in my paypal account, and I didn’t even meet the minimum payout amount.

That’s nice. They don’t provide the same stats and tracking as Adsense, but

I have experienced missing the Google payout by .47 cents at the end of a month and getting NADA.
